Welcome to harc
across age – across spectrum - across
Hertfordshire
harc is the Hertfordshire branch of
the National Autistic Society (NAS) based in Hatfield,
harc was formed in September 1998 by a group of Hertfordshire parents of autistic children, who were finding great difficulty in identifying support for their children following a diagnosis of autism. In particular the facility to talk to people who:
o could understand what they were going through
o could contribute experience on dealing with local government - education, Social Services etc.
o could provide a forum for ideas and discussion
We now have over 160 member families and, as autism is now becoming a more recognised condition and diagnosis, deal with autistic people of all ages.
harc has formed key contacts and relationships with professionals, such as teachers, doctors, Social Services, educational advisors who we can turn to for advice. Sometimes we find it is them coming to us!!
This is an interim web-site that we will keep updated
whilst we complete the development and testing of our brand new web-site which will go live soon.
